Why are we in Hong Kong? Hong Kong has many advantages for TMI at this time.

To fly from Hong Kong to almost anywhere in the world is much cheaper. A typical flight from Hong Kong can cost 50% less that the same flight from North America or Europe.

2/3’s of the world’s population lives in Asia and is within an 8 hours flight of Hong Kong. This is very important for the future of TMI, as we feel called to being a mission reaching out to countries where the Gospel message is least heard. Europe, North America, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East are less than a day’s flight away.

Reverend Kraft the Director of TMI now travels around the world 5-6 months. Mrs. Kraft is from Hong Kong, her family is located here, and they help take care of their family child.

While costs are very expensive here, mainly for housing, the Kraft’s now are very close to having the mortgage paid for their house, which also doubles as the TMI ministry office. This makes the location more affordable.

The weather in Hong Kong is very good for tennis, with year round playing.

Phone calls made from Hong Kong to almost anywhere in the world is very inexpensive. A typical phone call of one hour to some countries can be less then $3USD. Internet costs, such as Broadband and computer purchases are some of the lowest prices in the world. All this is important for our ministry operations.

We also have an abundance of housing for visiting teams for missions. While costly for some groups, it is readily available with high quality.
