STORY OF THE DAY: In 1924, the English artist William Wolcott visited the office of a friend in New York. Seeing a piece of paper on his desk, Wolcott asked, May I have that? His friend answered, But it's not sketching paper, it's just wrapping paper. Not wanting to lose his inspiration, Wolcott took the wrapping paper and replied, Nothing is ordinary, if you know how to use it.

On that ordinary paper he made two simple sketches. Later that year one of them sold for $500, the other for $1000 a princely sum in 1924. People under the influence of an empowering person are like paper in the hands of a great artist: no matter what they are made of, they can become treasures. Now, there is something to think about

On the first day 64 players lose and are out of the singles draw. I have no doubt that every tennis player has gifts from God for tennis. I also have no doubt that they have gifts from God that exend outside of the tennis world. They can be a great Mother, a great daughter, a great friend, a great singer, a great writer, a great giver, ect. My job is to talk to them about what God has gifted them with in every area of their life and encourage them in it. - Pastor Bob Kraft
