DAILY VERSE: The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening. - 1 Samuel 3:10

DAILY QUOTE: There are many people who speak to God in prayer, but hardly ever listen to Him, or else listen to Him only vaguely. - Paul Tournier

STORY OF THE DAY: One day, an American Indian who was visiting New York City turned to his friend in Times Square, tilted his head and said; “I hear a cricket.” “You are crazy!” replied his friend. “No, I hear it,” the Cherokee answered. His friend replied, “It is rush hour. The city’s full of noise, and you think you can hear a cricket? No way!”
“Yes,” said the visitor, then walked over to a big cement planter outside a building, dug into the leaves underneath it, and pulled out a cricket. Turning to his friend he said, “It all depends on what your ears are tuned to hear. Let me show you.” Reaching down into his pocket he pulled out a handful of change, dropped it on the pavement, and immediately every head within half a block turned. “See what I mean?” he said. “It all depends on what you are listening for.”

I walked by the ‘official’ hotel for the men players located in Times Square. I heard God in my mind say, 'go in and pray for the men of the tournament.' I argued a little, ‘but God, I want to get to the tournament early’. The reply came to my mind ‘Pray for one hour, from 9 to 10 am and then go to the tournament I will then arrange the ride to the site.’ I did as told, and sure enough at 10:01 pm a player was there willing to give me a ride. And, thank you to Millie for the credential and others who offered their support. - Pastor Bob Kraft
