DAILY VERSE: Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid of them! The Lord your God will go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you. - Deuteronomy 31:6
-----------------------------------
DAILY QUOTE: Love, faith and wisdom will get you on base, but only My Grace can get you home.
-----------------------------------
STORY OF THE DAY: In 1954, the Milwaukee Braves and the Cincinnati Reds played each other on the opening day of Major League baseball match. Each team had a rookie making his first appearance. The rookie for the Reds hit four doubles and helped them to win. The rookie for the Braves didn't hit a single ball! The Reds player was Jim Greengrass, a name few people have ever heard of. The other guy, the one who didn't get a single hit, is Hank Aaron and he went on to become the best home-run hitter in the history of the game and Hall of Fame. Now, if Aaron had been easily discouraged, he would have given up after his first game. But he didn't; he learned from it, practiced harder and decided to do better next time. That is what it takes to be a winner!
--------------------------------
I am at the US Open site now, spending time at the qualifier tournament (many of these players I have met before), speaking to the players, coaches and giving reading materials to the players a book called 'Finding Faith a Ground Zero'. Last night the last match finished at 8:30 pm and then dinner, arriving home at 11:30 pm. The dinner was in the Mexican section of nearby Queens, One real Mexican tacos fills you up and are $2 each. Spending mornings in meetings with churches who are organizing events for the tennis ministry to the players. – Pastor Bob Kraft
