Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fellowship:
The Second University Christian Tennis Coaches fellowship meeting is at the ITA annual convention December 16, 2001.  The meeting will begin at 8 AM and finish at 8:45 AM in Pegasus Room . The speaker will be David Lane who is the athletic chaplain for the University of South Florida. Tell your friends and anyone else who might be interested. The ITA General Membeship meeting will follow at 9 AM.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first fellowship meeting was on Friday, December 15, 2000 at 7:30 AM. This meeting coincided with the ITA annual meeting at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Florida. 16 coaches were in attendance.  There were others who wanted to attend but had previous commitments. They met in an area of the resort restaurant appropriately called "The Upper Room."  Those in attendance agreed that the College School Coaches Christian Fellowship is a group of sinners who believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was sent by God the Father to save us from our sins so that we can have eternal life.

The first topic we discussed was the importance of fellowship and protection when you are away from home.  There was testimony from a couple of coaches who said they had felt vulnerable and alone at conventions like the ITA. They were very happy to meet other Christian coaches they could count on for fellowship and accountable.
Accountability was our next subject.  As Christian coaches we are called to a higher level of accountability than just the NCAA rules.  We are also accountable to God for entrusting us with the lives of our players. We have many opportunities to develop mentoring relationships with these young people. Think of all the chances that we have to tell them how our relationship with Christ has directed our lives. We have opportunities after practice, when traveling, and during difficult times in our own personal lives. They may even ask why we are members of the School Coaches Christian Fellowship. All we have to do is be sensitive to them as people and those opportunities to share Christ will become obvious.

They based the final topic, gratitude, on the most quoted verse in the Bible.
